Current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent, competitive service or 55-b/c service as a Utility Engineering Specialist 1, Grade 18.

The Utility Engineering Specialist 1, Grade 18, will work in the Rates and Tariffs Section of the Office of Electric, Gas, and Water, and will perform duties that include, but are not limited to:
Analyzing and reviewing company records, tariff filings, and petitions.
Preparing evaluations and recommendations relating to the viability of proposed mergers or acquisitions.
Performing the preparation, analysis, and review of reports and studies involving operating revenues, sales forecasts, operation and maintenance expenses, capital budgets, rate base, marginal and embedded costs, depreciation and net salvage studies, revenue allocation, rate design, and electric supply.
Analyzing and processing petitions and tariff filings related to changes in rates, charges, rules, and regulations along with the preparation of session memoranda related to those filings.
Investigating system operations and events for water utilities.
Participating in federal rate proceedings to promote recommendations that will enhance State policies

The above salary range reflects the Downstate Adjustment of $3,026.
