NYC HOUSING AUTHORITY
Under direction, is in responsible charge of the operation, maintenance and repair of all utilities in a mid to High pressure power plant that provides heat and hot water to a residential/commercial multi building campus, performs related work and supervises a staff of Stationary Engineers, HPPTs, Oilers and Heating Maintenance Workers. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
1. Take responsible charge of the operation, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment such as boilers, furnaces, refuse incinerators, pumps, fans, engines, turbines, generators, electrical, heating, ventilating equipment, air conditioning and refrigeration systems, etc. associated with the mid to high pressure power plant.
2. Will operate or supervise the operation of control consoles in the plants control rooms.
3. Is in responsible charge of the operation, maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and pumping equipment associated with the generation of domestic hot water and generation and delivery of radiant heat to residential/commercial buildings.
4. Supervise assigned personnel. Prepare work schedules and direct the assignment of personnel.
5. Prepare equipment and material requisitions required for operation, maintenance and repair; direct and evaluate studies of operating procedures.
6. Determine and direct work procedures. Keeps all operating and preventative maintenance records; makes and provides reports.
Note: A valid Driver’s License valid in the state of New York is required for this position.

Minimum Qualifications
1. One year of full-time experience as Stationary Engineer in charge of a high pressure plant supervising at least three stationary engineers in the operation, maintenance and adjustment of high-pressure boilers; and
2. A valid License for High Pressure Boiler Operating Engineer issued by the New York City Department of Buildings.
