We’re tackling a broad range of public health issues with innovative policies and programs and getting exceptional results, but our work is never finished. The breadth of our innovative programs provides the widest range of choices for every member of our team. The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s Bureau of Public Health Training and Information Dissemination, within the Division of Epidemiology, supports efforts to build public health capacity of the current and future public health workforce by assessing training needs, providing training, resources, and internship opportunities, and evaluating training effectiveness.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

Work with subject matter experts to create, develop, and implement innovative and creative e-learning curriculums to support the training needs of the Bureaus and programs within the agency.

Develop and design interactive e-learning solutions using multimedia technology.

Provide guidance and support from development of concept through launch and evaluation and updates of the modules.

Support the inclusion of equity within e-learning content.

Publish courses to the agency’s Learning Content Management System and run related training reports.

Troubleshoot problems and coordinate solutions for technical issues with e-learning modules.
Minimum Qual Requirements
 
1. High school graduation or equivalent and two years of training in an approved technical school in oils, water colors, painting, design, black and white, layout and other art media and seven years full-time paid experience as a commercial artist, four years of which must have been in supervision and planning of art work done by a staff; or

2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to “1”. However, all candidates must have the four years of supervisory experience as described above.
Preferred Skills
 
Experience with eLearning training products, including Articulate 360, Storyline 360, Captivate
Ability to use advanced features of Storyline 360
Experience using Adobe products such as Photoshop, Audition, Illustrator
Familiarity with online learning products such as Vyond, E-Learning Brothers
Experience with video recording and editing
Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint
Knowledge of adult learning models and instructional design
Strong project management experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well under pressure
Technical aptitude and ability to learn new applications
Excellent time management skills
Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and consistently meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail
The ideal candidate must have at least three years of satisfactory full-time professional experience, and 18 months of this experience must have been in an executive, managerial, administrative, or supervisory capacity.

Residency Requirement
 
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
