Overview
The Government Product Support Specialist demonstrates a clear understanding of information technology fundamentals, terminology, concepts and disciplines. This position will be responsible for the execution of day to day report and extract generation, system administration of the document composition engine, performing quality assurance tasks in addition to providing support to the government product teams (Medicare and Medicaid). The Government Product Support Specialist will also be responsible for data analysis, data integrity and technical support for all internal and external customers. The position will work closely with senior-level team members and internal customers to translate business needs to technical delivery by following guidelines to execute effectively and in a timely manner. The Government Product Support Specialist will work with team members on documentation, quality assurance planning and execution of scheduled work as directed. The specialist is responsible for resourceful and collaborative decision making to differentiate Independent Health as a leader in providing affordable high-quality health benefit solutions.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
Four (4) years of experience performing healthcare system administration and/or working with health insurance products required. Health insurer experience preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Access and Excel) Experience with Oracle SQL Developer, Cognos, and Document Composition software preferred.
Possess basic to intermediate understanding of applications and systems administration.
Knowledge of Independent Health’s or industry product portfolios preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work with business partners within and outside the department to understand and assist in executing business technical strategies as directed by leadership.
Ability to learn from senior-level administrators to develop skill sets and increase knowledge and understanding of administration with broader and deeper levels of complexity.
Familiarity with troubleshooting, support skills and escalation methods.
Ability to continue and maintain technical and business proficiency for all supported tools.
Must be detail orientated with the ability to analyze data and documents for defects.
Excellent and resourceful problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to document processes and procedures and bring suggestions and ideas forward to leadership.
Experience with Business Process Management design and implementation.
Experience in quality assurance methods and systems testing protocols from unit to production. Tests and validates system readiness leading to deployments.
Demonstrated ability to conduct troubleshooting and bring forward analysis that leads to resolution.
Initiates self-directed learning opportunities, identifies applicability and demonstrates use of acquired skills.
Demonstrates self-initiative, follow up, skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities with the ability to adapt to change.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to coordinate and prioritize work according to established deadlines.

Essential Accountabilities
Responsible for defining Medicare business requirements and product benefit definition for a clear and accurate system configuration and communication to internal and external stakeholders. Disseminate and communicate to the functional business areas.
Responsible for the operational and quality assurance of Medicare Advantage Products including workflows of Product Operations and direct supervision of staff.
Facilitate a collaborative approach to problem solving and make well-reasoned decisions. Ensure standards are maintained, balancing consistency with flexibility to support business needs.
Ability to learn and perform configuration skills within EMedicareSync such as creating document versions, business rules, workflows, process builder, approvals, profiles, role, security permissions, reports/dashboards, user interface(s) and other configuration related activities.
Performs user account set up and maintenance (passwords, unlocks, and security).
Provides technical support to the user community, supporting requirements, interacting with team members and management, analyzing data to ensure accurate and effective results and reporting. Requires accurate and comprehensive recording of incidents to identify effectively and efficiently the cause of the incident.
Provides end-user support, troubleshooting technical issues leading to problem resolution.
Coordination and communication of system upgrades, patches, testing, issue identification and resolution, and system modifications.
Monitor and evaluate product performance in accordance with strategic plan initiatives and with close collaboration with Actuarial Services and Trend Team.
Maintain a product scorecard with metrics and collaboratively develop plans for improvement. Report the scorecard to the Medicare Leadership Team and Senior Management.
Collaboratively work with Regulatory Operations to ensure effective implementation of product requirements.
Follow established quality standards, checkpoints, and communications processes to ensure quality.
Maintain business relationships with vendors for product offerings. Work collaboratively with the Vendor Operations Team to manage the overall relationship.
Report and request payment for contracted vendor services (IE: including Family Choice percent of premium arrangements).
Maintain Sales reporting for broker payments in accordance with CMS regulations.
Work with the vendor(s), Business Analysts, IT Architects and (SMEs) to finalize high-level business requirements as well as functional and technical requirements related to Medicare operations.
Responsible for special projects that support implementation of business requirements for star ratings and member engagement to achieve desired goals.
Collaborate on the development, submission and maintenance of communication and marketing materials.
Identify process redesign opportunities to drive improvements and reduce costs. Document and redesign business processes as appropriate.
Hiring Compensation Range: $28.60 – $30.00 hourly
Compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to skills, education, location and experience.
In addition to base compensation, associates may be eligible for a scorecard incentive, full range of benefits and generous paid time off. The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
