Current NYS Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Public Health Field Services Representative 1 (G18), OR current NYS DOH employee with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent competitive or non-competitive service as a Public Health Representative 2 (G16) or Public Health Representative 3 (G18) and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law OR current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent competitive service in a title at or above G11 and eligible to transfer to Public Health Field Service Representative Trainee 1 under Section 70.4 of the Civil Service Law by having a specialized bachelor’s degree and obtained a passing score on the current NYS Department of Civil Service Professional Career Opportunities (PCO) select titles eligible list# 50-002, Public Administration Traineeship Transition (PATT) eligible list# 00-437, or Public Health Field Services Representative Trainee 1 list# 00-464.
Public Candidates: Active list candidate on the Professional Career Opportunities (PCO) select titles eligible list# 50-002 with a score of 100 or higher, OR qualified 55-b/55-c candidate in possession of a bachelor’s or higher degree.”
Preferred Qualifications: Five or more years of the following experience:
-Providing direct patient/client services in a health, human service or community-based organization; and/or performing oversight activities in a health regulatory organization to determine compliance with appropriate laws, rules, regulations; and/or -Performing administrative duties in a public health agency or in the health-related service component of a community-based organization. The health-related service component must have an outreach or preventive health function.
Duties Description
Under the supervision of the Refugee Health Coordinator this position will be responsible for Oversight of the Refugee Medical Assistance Program contracts in the Albany region, including technical assistance and programmatic support to contractors. Conducts on-site reviews of contractors to ensure compliance with Refugee Health Assessment agreements. Technical assistance is provided by this position to ensure contract deliverables. The PHFSR1 will make independent decisions based on available information and professional judgment and skill and will assist program managers in developing and overseeing a health data management system.

Permanent, Competitive Full Time. This is a two-year traineeship beginning at a G13 and leading to a G18. Transfer candidates may be asked for their SS# to verify eligibility.
