Current Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent-permanent competitive status as a Health Systems Specialist 1, G-18 OR New York State Employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent permanent competitive service and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law; OR reachable on the Professional Careers Opportunities (PCO) eligible list.
Preferred Qualifications: Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word, SharePoint, and Excel. Experience in grant and contract development and management.
Duties Description
Using strong organization and computer skills, the successful candidate will assist their supervisor in development of training, onboarding, and personnel retention projects. The successful candidate will develop Requests for Proposals or Applications and associated material to maintain accountability for State funds associated with various facility improvement project grants, track spending via applicable budget exercises and the Statewide Financial System, perform necessary internal audits, and maintain close collaboration with the Center for Long-Term Care Budget and Administration to approve spending related to grants and/or contracts. The successful candidate will explore policies and procedures for opportunities to improve efficiency; and using data analysis and communication skills, will spearhead realignment of the cross-program enforcement workflow by automating it to the extent practical and via creative technical solutions that will maintain the integrity of the data and improve data retrieval. The successful candidate will host programmatic webinars via the WebEx system for as many as 1000 participants, requiring strong ability to multi-task and navigate the WebEx platform, will distribute program-developed provider alerts via the Health Commerce System, will maintain listservs, and perform other duties as assigned with a focus on achieving consistency and efficiency.
