Full Job Description
Current NYS Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive status as a Health Program Administrator 2, G-25 OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title at or above G-23 and deemed eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of the NYS Civil Service Law.

The Division of Home and Community Based Services seeks to hire an HPA 2 who will assume the overall responsibility for the oversight and policy development for home care training programs, evaluation and registry requirements. Under the direction of the Division Director and Deputy Director, the HPA 2 will work with the team of professionals who support these functions in accordance with state and federal law and regulations. The HPA 2 will also be responsible for the recruitment/retention of team members, ensure program integrity and provide direction to program staff involved in a wide range of field or central office activities associated with enhancing the overall long term care workforce. The HPA 2 will utilize their skills to collect and analyze data or information and develop reports/recommendations regarding program enhancements and areas for streamlining existing training program requirements in concert with law and regulations. Lastly, the HPA 2 will be responsible for maintaining an electronic repository of requisite policies and procedures governing this program area. The HPA 2 will also be expected to engage in the collection and presentation of information on home care workers and related initiatives to both internal and external activities

Contingent-permanent, competitive, full-time. Two year traineeship leading to a G18. Transfer candidates may be asked for SSN to verify title history and eligibility.
