Bachelor’s degree and eight (8) years of relevant experience.
Substitutions: Four (4) years of specialized experience or associate’s degree and two (2) years of specialized experience may substitute for bachelor’s degree; J.D. or master’s degree may substitute for one (1) year of specialized experience; Ph.D. may substitute for two (2) years of specialized experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Highly skilled and motivated professional with excellent organizational and forward-thinking skills. Experience in the field of home and community based services and experience with project and grant management is critical along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Position requires a demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and assist in the direction of the work of approximately 75+ staff. Ability to engage and direct communications with a wide array of internal and external stakeholders.
Duties Description
The Office of Aging and Long-Term Care (OALTC) is seeking a candidate for the position of Director of the Center for Home and Community Based Services. The incumbent will be responsible for the management and oversight of state and federally funded programs and surveillance activities that directly support recipients in community-based settings, including those which provide coordinated plans of care and services to individuals who may otherwise be eligible for placement in a higher level of care including a residential health care setting. The incumbent will also be responsible to engage internal and external stakeholders to develop policies, practices and programs that support the vision and mission of OALTC to allow all New Yorkers the opportunity to age in place for as long as possible with access to quality services that promote dignity, independence, and health, and represent the OALTC and agency with federal and State agencies, community organizations, local government officials, healthcare providers, advocates, and other stakeholders to increase program awareness, resolve issues, and ensure program success.
