New York State employee with one or more years of permanent or contingent-permanent service as a DPPR 2, Grade 18, or one or more years of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a title eligible for transfer to DPPR 2, Grade 18, under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have knowledge of local health department and healthcare system emergency preparedness responsibilities in New York State; completion of Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Incident Command System courses 100, 200, 700 and 800.
Duties Description
The two Disaster Preparedness Program Representative 2 positions will develop and maintain health preparedness emergency response plans, policies, and standard operating procedures for assigned health programs; work with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate emergency preparedness plans and respond to emergency events; and draft correspondence, reports, presentations, and other materials related to health emergency preparedness plans. These positions will also serve as technical experts for emergency response activities; provide situational staff supervision when appropriate for activated volunteers and other Department of Health staff in the event of an emergency; and participate in local, State, and federal emergency response trainings.
