Employment in this title is restricted to students enrolled in and attending high school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a high school student.
The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) invests in a network of community-based organizations and programs to alleviate the effects of poverty and to provide opportunities for New Yorkers and communities to flourish.
Both Apprentices will work under the supervision of the Director of Community Action Programs Unit. They will work with the unit’s contracted nonprofit service providers in the following ways:
– Validating outcomes achieved by the nonprofit providers funded by DYCD.
– Assist unit staff with conducting Desk Review, Mid-Year and Closeout EMTs
– Assist unit staff with telephone follow-up with providers to administration and program operations, as required by the RFP.
– Assisting Program Managers on offsite site visits to providers.
– Review case management compliance for unit staff to evaluate and provide technical assistance when needed.
– Additionally, Youth Apprentices will have opportunities to assist the unit with special projects, as directed by the CAP Director of Community Action Programs, Senior Director of Community Action Programs, and Assistant Commissioner.

Residency Requirement
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
