Partnerships for Parks is a joint program of New York City Parks and City Parks Foundation (CPF). Partnerships for Parks (PfP) supports and champions a growing network of leaders caring and advocating for neighborhood parks and green spaces. We equip people, organizations and government with the skills and tools they need to transform these spaces into dynamic community assets.
Major Responsibilities
– Under the supervision of the Director and Deputy Director, and in close coordination with the other Assistant Director for community engagement, develop, evaluate and manage the Community Engagement Program
– Work closely and regularly with the other Assistant Director to coordinate program strategy, establish goals and manage communication.
– Lead team’s execution of special initiatives.
– Supervise and co-lead Community Engagement team, providing strategic and individualized support and staff development. Visit field offices regularly.
– Hold regular meetings with staff to identify goals, set priorities, and assist with troubleshooting. Set agendas and create meeting content.
– Coordinate team of Senior Community Engagement Coordinators to advance program goals.
– Manage program budget, purchasing and expense tracking.
– Create and contribute to presentations.
– Assist staff with on-site logistical support as needed including but not limited to tool and material inventory and distribution, event management and volunteer coordination.
– Collaborate with other Program Directors on organizational planning, decision making and program implementation.
– Create and manage reports, support staff usership of data system, collect and analyze data and ensure compliance with data tracking.
– Engage and coordinate with NYC Parks and CPF leadership and staff, including visiting field offices on a regular basis.
– Represent PfP in internal and external meetings, events and conferences.
– Assist with Partnerships for Parks special initiatives and projects as directed including staffing events and projects on nights and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to “1” or “2” above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in “1” above.
Preferred Skills
1. Experience in community organizing, urban planning, or city government. 2. Ability to work with diverse constituencies. 3. Excellent writing, communication and organizational skills. 4. Ability to work independently and initiate projects. 5. Proficiency in computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel. 6. Ability to work some nights and weekends, as needed. 7. Valid New York State Driver License.

Residency Requirement
Residency in New York City, Nassau, Orange, Rockland, Suffolk, Putnam or Westchester counties required for employees with over two years of city service. New York City residency required within 90 days of hire for all other candidates.
