Senior Recreation Leader

City of Tonawanda Parks and Recreation Department has an immediate opening for a Senior Recreation Leader.

Responsible for the planning, organizing, promoting and/or conducting of recreational activities, events, leagues, and programming for youth, adults, and seniors in one or more of the department’s units and/or facilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation or closely related field; OR Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years’ experience conducting of recreation activities, of which included one (1) year of administrative or supervisory experience; OR Possession of an Associate’s Degree in Recreation, or a closely related field, and four (4) years’ experience in the conducting of recreation activities; of which included one (1) year of administrative or supervisory experience; OR Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training, as defined above, sufficient to indicate ability to perform the duties of the position.

This is a full-time position. Residency within the City of Tonawanda is required at time of OR within one year of appointment.
Please note, the provisionally appointed candidate will have to take and pass a NYS Civil Service exam to be held on a future date, and be reachable on the resulting eligible list.

Current annual salary: $54,000
