This is an administrative support position responsible for sustaining youth related human service grant funded programs. Within the requirements established by the funder, the incumbent in this title assists in the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of activities associated with a particular grant. This employee works under the direct supervision of the grant coordinator. Related work is performed as required.
This is a Competitive Class position. The individual selected to fill this vacancy will be given a provisional appointment and will be required to participate in the next Civil Service Examination for this title.
A qualified applicant may be provisionally appointed and serve in the position until a Civil Service Examination is administered and an appropriate eligible list can be established to make a permanent appointment in accordance with the Civil Service Rule of Three. CITY RESIDENCY WILL BE REQUIRED WITHIN ONE YEAR OF HIRE.
Typical Work Activities
Assists in the coordination of grant-related assessments, goal-setting, work plan development, implementation, and evaluation efforts;
Monitors grant related activities and completes necessary programmatic and fiscal reporting requirements set forth by the funding agency and the City;
Provides administrative support to grant funded initiatives through the planning and implementation of activities associated with the grant work plan;
Promotes the grant’s mission, products, achievements, and relevant data through the drafting of print and online media, outreach materials, and reports to the community;
Oversees community volunteers and grant sub-contractor’s engagement in grant related programs, projects, and activities;
Identifies resources and relevant training opportunities related to the grant;
Assists in the planning for sustainability of grant projects and provides budget oversight with assistance from Departmental administrative staff;
Represents the City at job related meetings, gatherings, and special events.
High School diploma or GED; PLUS I, II, or III.
I. Bachelor’s degree AND one (1) year of experience supporting a youth related human service grant or program which included program development, implementation, and monitoring. OR
II. Associate’s degree AND two (2) years of experience supporting a youth related human service grant or program which included program development, implementation, and monitoring. OR
III. Four (4) years of experience supporting a youth related human service grant or program which included program development, implementation, and monitoring.
1.Possession of a valid New York Class D operator’s license at time of appointment and throughout employment in this title.
2.Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
